Studio 40 is a RIBA Chartered architecture practice based in Billericay. We combine architecture, interiors and project management, working with homeowners across Southend-on-Sea and the surrounding area who want a genuinely considered approach to how they live. Not just a planning application.

The Southend area offers a genuinely varied architectural landscape, from the Victorian and Edwardian seafront properties of Westcliff and Leigh-on-Sea to the more suburban character of Hadleigh and the wooded edges of the borough. Each setting presents its own planning context and its own design opportunities, and we approach each one on its own terms.

Working in the Southend area requires a good understanding of Southend City Council's planning policies and the varied character of its neighbourhoods. The Victorian and Edwardian properties along the seafront carry their own conservation considerations, while the wooded edges around Hadleigh present a different set of constraints and opportunities. We approach each site on its own terms.
